How it works

Evidence for difficult beam detector faults.

BeamGuardian is not positioned as a product that prevents every fault. The aim is to help investigate problem sites by capturing evidence when the behaviour happens, rather than relying on a call-out after the condition has cleared.

Existing beam detectorThe approved fire alarm system stays as it is. BeamGuardian would not replace, certify, bypass, or control the fire system.
BeamGuardian evidence loggerA separate diagnostic unit mounted near the beam head to monitor signal-related behaviour and environmental context, with data stored locally on the device and optionally accessible via the cloud.
Engineer diagnosisThe output should help the engineer decide whether the likely cause is alignment, contamination, moisture, light, movement, or another site-specific effect.
System overview

From device to cloud — the data journey.

BeamGuardian captures evidence at the beam head, stores it locally on site, and can optionally sync to a cloud platform for remote access and review.

Alignment uncertainty

Does the signal slowly drift, drop at certain times, or recover after the site changes? A trend can be more useful than a single reading during a visit.

Contamination or obstruction

Dust, condensation, or temporary obstructions may not be visible when the engineer arrives.

Light and environment

Some faults may only appear when sunlight, lighting, temperature, humidity, or site activity reaches a certain pattern.

Practical target

Make the awkward call-out less of a guessing game.

The useful output is not just a nice dashboard. It would be evidence that helps answer: what changed before the fault, what conditions were present, and is the issue repeatable?

That could make the product valuable for service engineers, facilities teams, and fire safety consultants who are dealing with recurring beam detector problems.
